Amy was introduced to fishing at a very young age on the banks of Beaver Dam and Tennessee River with her parents and grandparents. She won her first tournament at age 5 by catching the Biggest Bass of the tournament. For the next 13 years, she would spend her summers fishing on her dad’s bass boat or fishing from the local creek banks. In 1997 she left her fishing dreams behind and enlisted in the United States Navy. The next 20 years would be spent traveling the world including deployments to Iraq and Africa. One of her biggest achievements was being selected as Sailor of the Year at SEAL Team FOUR in 2008 and Tampa Bay Chamber of Commerce Navy Non-Commissioned Officer of the Year in 2016. After serving her country faithfully, Amy retired in 2017 and settled in Tampa, FL.
After retirement she found her love for fishing again when she fished and won the 2014 Naples Take a Soldier Fishing tournament in Naples, Florida.
